Equipment Recommendations

To get the most out of your cycling trip you should be prepared for everything the trails and the weather have to throw at you! The following list is a guide line for what to bring to get the maximum out of your mountain biking experience. the list is not exhaustive so bring any essentials you think we've missed.

• mountain bike (in case you don't rent one)
• jersey(s)
• cycling shorts with a quality chamois
• helmet
• full finger bike gloves with a padded palm
• cycling socks(synthetic or lightweight wool)
• arm warmers
• leg warmers(or long bibs)
• cycling shoes 
• hydratation pack with zippered utility pockets
• water canteen with hydratation liquid
• spare tubes
• hand pump
• MultiTool(preferably one with a chain breakerunit)
• knees and elbows protection
• quality rain jacket(preferably Gore-Tex, with pit-zips for ventilation)
• wind jacket(lightweight and form-fitting)
• sweater(fleece and form-fitting mid layer)
• top and bottom baselayer(syntetic or lightweight wool)
• sunglasses(polarized are ideal)
• camera(phone or poit-and-shoot, and a GoPro or other POV camera)
• phone
• neck warmer(or BUFF preferably)

The RoBikeMania story starts in 2009, when a group of proffessionals ski instructors decideto expand their activities even on summer time.

The group made of mind and dedicated guides are equally inlove of mountains and bikes, and so it takes birth to a successfull combo: mountain-bikes and the wonderfull area of Charpatians mountains.

Because those areas are made of an unmeasured beauty, they became part of the life and professional activity of the group members, and so the team decide not to keep secret anymore those breathtaking beauties, and starts to share those unforgattable experiences with the tourists from other countries(ISRAEL, FRANCE, BELGIUM, UK), which are spellbound by those mythical places.

the team is made of 3 touristical guides, specialized on mountain-bikes, 1 mountain guide specialized on hikeing, 1 medical assistent, 2 mechanics and 1 expert on logistics.

The headquarters of the team is located in Predeal, a mountain resort in the center of Romania, on Prahova valley witch is the southern border of Transylvania.

The climate of  Predeal is ideal for extreme sports such as mtb, because it is at an altitude of 1000m (3280 ft) above the sea level, and it is guarded by imposing mountains:

• Postavarul mountain on the North West
• Piatra Mare on North
• Bucegi mountains on South West
• Baiului mountains on South

Those mountains hide outstanding natural wanders which can be reached on secret paths by bycicle, such as:

• Babele, Sfinxul or Ialomitei Cave on Bucegi Mountains
• Seven Ladders and Tamina Canyons on Piatra Mare mountain
• Cazacu Peak and Orjogoaia Lake on Baiului mountains
• Cheile Rasnoavei Canyon on Postavarul mountain

The location of the town is also ideal, because is in the middle of the country at a crossroads of two national roads, in close proximity of several importand tourist destinations, including:

• The Count Dracula Castle (Bran Castle)
• The Royal Residence of the Romanian Royal Family (Peles Castle)
• The Rasnov Citadel and The Valea Cetatii Cave
• Brasov Old Town with the Black Church

There are many others touristic attractions, that are not pretty much known by the public, but who's beauty are breathtaking,which make the target for our team to be revealedto the worldwide MTB enthusiasts.

Those attractions are also close by Predeal and worth all the effort to be seen:

• Fortified Church of Prejmer (old from XIII Century)
• Fortified Church of Viscri (home of Prince Charles of Wales)
• Tarnavelor Valley (bike road of old fortified area churches)
• Transfagarasan road (at an altitude of 2000m or 6.699ft - declared by Jeremy Clarkson' Top Gear presentator"the best road in the world"
